Selected Press, "Please touch here

"

He strokes her as if her body was not existent, but a virtual object to his satisfaction. She breathes into the microphone, but the breath she squeezes out has nothing to do with the sounds we can hear. They are being dubbed from off-stage, which we don´t notice for a while. Every thing exsists disconnected and without obligation to one another. In a way this duet is a continuation of all pieces, the dancer and choreographer Hegenscheidt has shown so far. Emotions, perceptions and relationships as surrogates of themselves. Therapeutically treated to death we can look inside and ask ourselves: What do I feel? - When it comes down to it? - Nothing. (...) In a way all analysis and inner reflection leads to nothing but an emotional and mental drought. That is what Hanna Hegenscheidt´s pieces are about. (...) "Please touch here" is crafted well. The way each scene ends so that nothing ever gets established, but everything just stays to be a bare state is remarkable.

Hanna Hegenscheidt´s newest work invites discussions of seduction and temptation, in addition to questioning what the tired expression “tender loving care” actually means. The performers Maria F.Scaroni and Thomas Conway carefully explore this interpersonal “petting zoo”, shedding some light on the tension between authenticity and simulation.
