The purpose of Klein Technique™ is education, not on the superficial level of mimicking form, but on a profoundly deep level of understanding the full use of the body as an integral whole to maximize full function of each individuals unique movement potential.

Klein Technique™ has been taught for more than thirty years in numerous countries. Among the hundreds of Klein Technique™ students are the most well known members of the dance community including Trisha Brown, Stephen Petronio, Bebe Miller, Wally Cardona, Jeremy Nelson, Sasha Waltz and members of their companies.

Hanna Hegenscheidt met Susan Klein and Barbara Mahler in New York in 1992, while she was enrolled in the program for Laban-Bartenieff Movement-Analysis at the Laban-Bartenieff Institute. Until moving to Berlin in 2004 she studied with both of them intensively. In 1998 she started teaching at the Susan Klein School of Dance and Movement Studies. In Berlin she was given the opportunity to slowly build a regular Klein Technique™class by Renate Graziadei and Arthur Stäldi at their studio LaborGras. She also began teaching the company class for Sasha Waltz & Guests regularly. Over the years Klein Technique™ gained a following within the dance community in Berlin. Today Susan Klein as well as Barbara Mahler regularly give workshops in Berlin. In 2011 Hanna opened her studio 142 at Kunstquartier Bethanien, where she teaches regular Klein Technique™ classes and workshops.
